Original Features

RV Shop Desk is run by Supercanic LLC and is the RV version of the Shop Desk, an associated product of YourShopDesk.com. This page records each feature we built, what it does, how we built it at a high level, and the day it was first created. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Every feature below is an original creation, first built on the date shown. The dates come from our source control records, which log every change to the software with a timestamp, and we keep those records.

• Shop Desk, the shop management desk · first created March 18, 2026. The first version of the Shop Desk: one screen for a repair shop's customers, vehicles, jobs and invoices, with a public booking page. How: Designed and written by us as a web application with its own database schema, built for how an independent shop actually runs.
• Arrival photos of every vehicle · first created March 18, 2026. Before work starts, the technician photographs all four sides of the vehicle, and the photos stay with the job. How: A required step in the job, stored with the job record. These photos later became the car thumbnails.
• Technician payroll tied to paid invoices · first created March 18, 2026. Technicians' pay is released when the customer's invoice for the job is paid. How: A payroll page inside the desk that reads from the jobs and invoices themselves.
• The shop manual system and vehicle-aware assistant · first created March 18, 2026. A repair manual system that looks vehicles up by year, make and model, with an AI assistant that answers with the specific vehicle's records in front of it. How: Our own assistant layer on top of a licensed AI model and public vehicle data, given the job and vehicle the technician is working on.
• Digital vehicle inspection · first created March 18, 2026. A multi-point inspection filled in at the car and kept with the job, required before the work goes ahead. How: Written as part of the job card, so the inspection and the work it leads to stay together.
• Where RV repair began: MechanicRank.com · first created May 8, 2026. Our RV repair work traces back to MechanicRank.com. Its first directory of mobile mechanics already listed mobile mechanics doing RV repair in Bakersfield, Las Vegas, Orange County, Phoenix, San Diego and Santa Monica, which is where we first found that trade. How: Our own research and directory of mobile mechanics, built and published by us.
• The repair order process · first created August 19, 2026. A job moves through check-in, authorization, diagnosis and parts procurement as defined steps, instead of living in a notes field. How: Each step is its own record with its own rules, so the desk knows where every job stands.
• VIN decode at job intake · first created August 19, 2026. Entering a VIN when a job is opened fills in the year, make, model and engine. How: Built into the intake form and connected to a public vehicle data source, so the car is identified before the work is priced.
• Parts number mapping and shelf location · first created August 19, 2026. Every part carries its number, its cross-references and where it sits on the shelf. How: A parts catalog of the shop's own, built from what the shop has bought and used.
• Technician pay terms, comebacks and markup matrix · first created August 19, 2026. Pay is set per technician and per job type (flat rate, hourly or commission), comebacks and warranty claims are tracked, and parts are sold through a markup matrix. How: Pay rules are data the owner sets, and the desk computes each technician's pay from the jobs they worked.
• Import from any spreadsheet, and undo it · first created August 19, 2026. A shop can bring its customers and jobs across from a CSV file without renaming its columns, and can reverse an import completely. How: The importer reads what each column contains rather than what it is called, and every imported row is tagged so it can be taken back out.
• The shop photo hub · first created August 23, 2026. Every photo the shop has taken, searchable by job, customer, vehicle and caption, and dated by when it was taken rather than when it was uploaded. How: A searchable archive with its own viewer, built so a shop can ask whether it has seen a failure before.
• The calendar you can ask questions of · first created August 24, 2026. Month, week and day views, with each technician as a lane on the day view, and road work kept apart from bay work. How: Designed for shops that run mobile jobs as well as bay jobs.
• The customer page · first created August 25, 2026. Each customer gets a page of their own showing where their job is, the updates the crew posts, stage photos and the invoice. How: A private link the shop sends opens it. It shows only what is meant for the customer.
• The railway job map · first created August 25, 2026. The whole shop drawn as one rail line with a station for each stage of the work, the count of jobs standing at each station, and the stops where money is waiting marked in red. How: Our own visual design for the pipeline of a repair shop, drawn from live job data.
• The six doors · first created August 25, 2026. The front of the desk is six doors, one for each kind of person who uses it: owners, technicians, customers, fleets, service advisors and people fixing their own car. How: Our own layout and artwork for a shop platform's front door.
• One desk for every website · first created August 26, 2026. Every website the business runs sends its leads into one desk, with duplicates caught and each lead given a next step. How: One intake that accepts the forms of many different sites, and a Sales Desk that works the leads in order.
• The estimate that writes itself first · first created August 26, 2026. One click drafts a full estimate from a lead, labor and parts included, and the service advisor corrects it before anything is sent. How: An AI drafting step that feeds the shop's own rates and markup rules. A person always approves the price.
• Missed call text back · first created August 26, 2026. A caller nobody called back gets a text within minutes, within daily limits and quiet hours. How: A scheduled sweep of the shop's calls. The switch ships off, and the shop turns it on.
• Pay and sign from the phone · first created August 26, 2026. A customer can approve, sign for and pay for work from their own phone. How: Built into the customer page, connected to the shop's own merchant account.
• No work without a price and a signature · first created August 27, 2026. The desk will not let work start until the customer has a price and has signed for it, and it says where the work will happen. How: An authorization gate written into the job's steps, not a reminder.
• Three ways to buy each part · first created August 27, 2026. Each part on a quote shows sourcing options side by side, and the quote goes out by text or email. How: Built into the quote so the advisor chooses the part and the customer sees one price.
• Texting from a local number · first created August 30, 2026. The shop texts customers from a number in their own area. How: The desk holds several numbers and picks the one that looks local to each customer.
• The RV repair featured interview · first created August 30, 2026. MechanicRank.com published its featured interview with RV Repair LLC, a mobile RV repair business in Fort Myers, Florida, on slide outs and the rest of the work an RV brings. How: Our own interview program: the business answers our questions, sends its photos, and we publish the feature.
• The week heat grid · first created August 31, 2026. Calls and booked work drawn as a grid of the week by hour, so the gap between when the phone rings and when the work is booked can be seen. How: Our own chart design, drawn live from the shop's data.
• Driver AI · first created August 31, 2026. A door for people fixing their own car, with manuals and an AI assistant. How: Our own module and name, added to the Shop Desk front door.
• The shop's own service map · first created August 31, 2026. A map of where the shop has worked, drawn from its own job records, with every point blurred so no customer's address can be read from it. How: Built from the desk's data rather than an outside service.
• Shop Desk, rebuilt · first created September 2, 2026. The current Shop Desk, rebuilt from the ground up as a multi-shop platform on a new foundation. How: A new server, database design and interface written by us, carrying over what the first version had learned.
• Parts deposits on quotes · first created September 4, 2026. A shop can ask for a parts deposit on a quote, the customer pays it from their page, and it comes off the final bill. How: Built into the quote, the customer page and the invoice together.
• The technician's walk · first created September 8, 2026. One panel that takes a technician from starting a job to getting paid, step by step, with a picture guide for every step. How: Our own step-by-step design, with training pictures drawn from the same screens the app ships.
• A desk for any trade · first created September 15, 2026. A shop says what trade it is in, and the desk speaks that trade's words and wears the shop's own logo and colors. How: The trade and the brand are settings that the whole desk reads from.
• The coin · first created September 18, 2026. The coin artwork used as the Shop Desk's mark and as the picture shown when a job has no photo. How: Original artwork made for us.
• The service manual finder · first created September 19, 2026. A typed vehicle make is matched to that maker's service information portal. How: Our own mapping of makes to their manufacturers' portals.
• Reading a plate or VIN from a photo · first created September 20, 2026. A photo texted to the shop can be read for a VIN or a data plate. How: An AI reading step behind our own safety checks. The photo is read and discarded, not stored.
